Terms

What Geeze AI is, what it costs, what we ask of you, and what we will and will not promise. Written to be read rather than to be impenetrable.

What this is

Geeze AI is a Mac app. You press a key, it reads what is on your screen, and it puts a short description plus the full text on your clipboard. An assistant you have approved can also ask it for the same thing directly.

Using the app means agreeing to what is on this page. If you do not agree with it, do not sign in.

It is free, and we do not promise it will always be there

Geeze AI costs nothing today. There is no contract, no minimum term, and nothing to cancel beyond deleting your account.

In exchange for that, we are not promising the service will be available at any particular time or at all. It is new. It can be slow, it can be down, and it can stop working while we fix something. Do not build anything you depend on around it.

If we change it significantly or shut it down, we will email the address on your account before we do, not after. If we ever start charging, the same applies: you will hear it from us first.

What we ask of you

Only really one thing: use it as a person, by hand.

If an account is doing any of that, we may slow it down or close it. Where it is plainly a mistake rather than deliberate, we will email first.

Where your text goes

When you press the key, the text Geeze AI reads is sent to our server, which passes it to OpenAI to write the description. On the few screens it has to look at, one picture of the window goes the same way. Neither is stored on our server. We record that a request happened — which account, when, how much text, how long it took, and whether it worked — and never what your screen said.

OpenAI receives the text in order to produce the description, and their handling of it is governed by their own terms.

Captures are also kept on your own Mac for as long as your retention setting says, and are never synced anywhere. The privacy page sets all of this out in full, including how long we keep the usage record.

Your account, and ending it

You sign in with Google, Apple, or an email address. Keep your access to that account secure; anyone who has it has your Geeze AI account.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings, under Account. Deleting it removes your account record and unlinks your usage rows. Deleting your account removes it from the live service straight away. It leaves our backups as older copies are replaced, normally within seven days. Until that button ships, email support@geezeai.com and we will do it by hand within seven days.

We may close an account that is breaking the section above. Otherwise we will not close yours without telling you why.

What you make with it is yours

We claim nothing over what you capture or what you do with it. The app itself, the name and the artwork stay ours.

Limitation of liability

Geeze AI is free, and we run it with reasonable care and skill. Things can still go wrong. The descriptions are written by an AI model, which can get things wrong or miss things, so check anything that matters before you act on it. Because your captures pass through our server and OpenAI, the service can be slow, interrupted or unavailable, and we don’t promise otherwise.

Some laws give people rights that a contract cannot take away. These include New Zealand’s Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and consumer laws in other countries. Where those laws apply to you, nothing on this page removes or limits those rights. If anything on this page would do that, it does not apply to that extent.

Subject to that, and as far as the law allows:

None of this limits our responsibility for fraud, for deliberate or reckless wrongdoing, for death or personal injury, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

You choose what to capture, so make sure you’re allowed to send it to us and to OpenAI — for example, text that is confidential to your employer or a client. If something goes wrong, contact us using the address on this page and we will try to put it right.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms, and any dispute about them or about Geeze AI, are governed by the law of New Zealand, and the courts of New Zealand can hear any such dispute.

That does not strip away protections you have where you live. If you are a consumer outside New Zealand, the consumer-protection laws of your own country may still apply to you, and some of them cannot be overridden by choosing New Zealand law. Nothing here takes those protections away, and nothing here stops you bringing a claim in your local courts if your local law gives you that right.

If you are in New Zealand, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986 apply as usual. Wherever you are, please contact us first — we would rather sort a problem out directly.

Changes to these terms

If we change anything on this page in a way that affects you, we will email the address on your account before it takes effect. The date below is the last time it changed.
